Hi, I’m the Forex Gypsy. God has blessed my 50+ years on this planet with different life changing opportunities. As careers go, I have previously farmed, operated a trucking company, and been an independent grain broker. At 30 years of age, I decided to go back to school to become a therapist. In 1993, I went to work for the Department of Corrections, working with inmates in a medium security prison. I have since retired.
Prior to my retirement, I began to look into trading the Forex market to keep myself busy and of course to become financially independent. I demo traded the Forex market for 8 months before deciding to trade with real money. I was doing quite well in acquiring pips for a profit. So in January 2007, I began to trade with hard earned money. Low and behold, my account began to dissipate. I couldn’t seem to understand what I was doing wrong. I decided if I was going to continue trading the Forex market, I needed help. So I went to workshops, signed up for online webinars, signed up for expensive signal services, and bought books on Forex trading – candlestick charting etc. Finally my account began to grow. I have been trading live for almost 2 years now. I learned quickly that one has to detach from your emotions when trading the Forex. I also learned that the Forex market changes according to World Conditions. Strategies that used to work, no longer worked. I have found it to be invaluable to work with a team of seasoned traders, to discuss the ever-changing market.
I do the majority of my trading during the European trading session, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. EST. I have attempted to stay out of the U.S. trading time due to the impact that the U.S. Stock Market has on the Forex market. I predominately trade off of the 60 and 240 minute lites. I have no preference to the pairs that I trade, although I stay away from the pairs that have big spreads and or are extremely volatile such as the GBP/JPY. I use Bollinger bands, Moving Averages, Parabolic Sar’s, Trix, MACD, and the CCI. I try to earn 15 to 50 pips + pips per trade. I typically will pull my trades prior to High Impact News Announcements unless I’ve been in the trade for a length of time and I’m substantially up in pips, (as in a position trade).
